past experience and education

Nick Xiong, PsyD, MT-BC holds Bachelor’s degrees in music and music therapy, and received his Masters in music therapy from the University of the Pacific. As a Board Certified Music Therapist, he utilized evidence-based music interventions to accomplish individualized goals within therapeutic relationships. He has experience working with adolescents and adults with special needs, in-patient geriatric behavioral health, and skilled nursing. These experiences inspired him to further pursue clinical training in treating mental health, leading him to study and complete his Doctor of Psychology degree in Clinical Psychology at Alliant International University in 2023. Nick has been at Vantage Point Center for Psychotherapy for two years and will be starting his post-doctoral internship in the summer.

Throughout his supervised clinical training, Nick was exposed to several different therapeutic modalities and presenting problems. These experiences fostered a passion for providing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy in serving individuals impacted by anxiety and obsessive-compulsive disorders. Nick values a relational and collaborative approach to therapy, and firmly believes in the construction of a strong therapeutic relationship as it is influential in developing shared learning experiences. He is passionate about facilitating growth by supporting the personal goals in people of all ages, backgrounds, and cultures.
