Brianna Domaceti, Ms

What is your philosophy in psychotherapy?

I believe that meaningful change happens in a space that feels safe, collaborative, and deeply

human. Many people come to therapy with insight, self-awareness, and a long history of trying to

“figure themselves out,” yet still feel stuck. My philosophy is grounded in the belief that healing

does not come from insight alone, but from the lived experience of being seen, understood, and

emotionally met in relationships.

Therapy is not about fixing what is “wrong” with you. It is about understanding how your

experiences shaped the ways you learned to cope, connect, and protect yourself, and creating

space to relate to yourself and others in new, more fulfilling ways.

What approaches do you use to help your clients?

I work from an integrative, trauma-informed framework and tailor treatment to each client’s

needs, pace, and goals. My approach draws from:

  • Psychodynamic Therapy to explore unconscious patterns, attachment experiences, and relational dynamics.
  • Relational Therapy to use the therapeutic relationship itself as a vehicle for healing
  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to support emotion regulation, distress tolerance, interpersonal effectiveness, and mindfulness.
  • Contextual and trauma-informed approaches to help clients feel grounded, safe, and more connected to themselves. Rather than applying techniques rigidly, I collaborate with you to understand what will be most helpful in each phase of therapy.

What are your areas of expertise and clients you work well with?

I specialize in working with adults who feel emotionally overwhelmed, disconnected, or stuck in

repeating patterns, particularly in relationships. Many of my clients are thoughtful and self-

aware, yet struggle with self-doubt, people-pleasing, intense emotions, dissociation, or a

persistent sense of feeling unseen or emotionally alone.

I also have a strong interest in working with couples who want to better understand their

relational patterns, improve emotional communication, and feel more securely connected. My

work with couples is grounded in attachment and relational frameworks, centering how early

relational experiences continue to shape patterns of connection, conflict, and closeness in adult

partnerships.

I work especially well with individuals and couples who:

  • Have experienced trauma or who grew up in emotionally neglectful, chaotic, or invalidating early environments
  • Feel strong on the outside but exhausted, disconnected, or lonely internally
  • Experience dissociation, emotional numbing, or difficulty staying present during stress or conflict
  • Have been in therapy before but felt it did not go deep enough
  • Are navigating relationship difficulties, identity concerns, or burnout

You do not need a specific diagnosis to work with me. If something feels off in your

relationships, emotional world, or sense of self, that is enough to begin.

What’s your therapeutic style with your clients?

My style is warm, attuned, collaborative, and grounded in strong clinical training. I strive to

create a space where you do not have to perform, impress, or have everything figured out.

Sessions are active and relational, while also allowing room for reflection, curiosity, and

emotional depth.

I will meet you where you are, while also gently helping you take meaningful emotional risks

when you are ready.

What languages do you speak?

English

Past Experience and Education

I am a pre-doctoral intern in Clinical Psychology with extensive training in trauma-informed,

psychodynamic, and relational therapies. I have worked across clinical, academic, and research

settings and have presented at national trauma conferences. My research and clinical interests

center on complex trauma and its impact on identity, relationships, and emotional regulation,

with particular attention to individuals who have previously been in therapy but did not

experience it as attuned, safe, or helpful.
