My time working with clients has taught me that individuals have the ability to grow when provided with a safe space to feel both vulnerable and empowered. I believe that self compassion is key when engaged in this process with a therapist.
I use an integrated approach largely based on Time Limited Dynamic Psychotherapy (TLDP) along with CBT, DBT, and education for clients. This style examines how the way we view ourselves and others can create difficult patterns in our lives and can assist clients in getting out of those patterns.
I work well with a range of ages and presenting problems, and have most recently with those in early to middle adulthood enrolled in college. I have extensive experience addressing eating disorders, trauma, depression, anxiety, and significant family issues. I have experience working with individuals and couples from various ethnic, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds. I strive to view the world through a Feminist lens and with such principles in mind when working with clients.
I believe that clients are experts on their own lived experiences and can highly benefit from guidance to make a plan to grow. I also believe that therapy should be a place of support and validation, with compassionate challenges along the way.

Dr. Cathy Rojas (she/her) earned her Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology from Georgia School of Professional Psychology at Argosy University Atlanta. She completed a pre-doctoral internship SUNY Oneonta in Upstate New York before returning to Georgia to further her work in college counseling. In 2018 she returned to her home of Sacramento to provide therapy services to students at CSU Sacramento.
Within the college counseling settings, Cathy has experience working with students from a variety of backgrounds including nontraditional age students, those who are undocumented, DREAMers, or from mixed status families, students who have faced housing and economic instability, and students who are parents. During her time in those settings, Cathy also served on the Eating Disorder Treatment Team and facilitated outreach to the campus, allowing for more connection to individuals in the community in which she practices.
