Frank Song, MA

What is your philosophy in psychotherapy?

I believe in creating a relationship of trust with my clients through an open-minded, culturally attuned approach to meeting client-specific goals.

What approaches do you use to help your clients?

I incorporate a flexible balance of cognitive behavioral and mindfulness approaches in my practice. I am formally trained in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), motivational interviewing (MI) and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) approaches.

What are your areas of expertise and clients you work well with?

I enjoy working with clients across the lifespan, helping them work through issues including mood and anxiety disorders (including panic disorder and OCD), relationship difficulties, cultural adjustments, financial behaviors (such as gambling problems), parenting, and work stress. I am passionate about helping clients better understand long standing patterns hindering their lives and discover their unique strengths and resilience to overcome them.

What’s your therapeutic style with your clients?

My therapeutic style is collaborative and person-centered.

What languages do you speak?

English and Korean.
