I aim to build a strong therapeutic alliance with my clients to truly understand them and their unique needs. I never presume to know everything about a person without exploring it with the person first.
I work from an attachment and psychodynamic lens within a systemic frame, utilizing a relational and collaborative approach. I also use various forms of therapeutic interventions to help individuals begin to understand themselves and actualize their potential.
I specialize in psychotherapy as well as comprehensive psychological assessments that identify and treat challenges related to development, autism, learning, attention, mood, personality, identity, sexuality, relationships and other psychological concerns. My passion is working with diverse and vulnerable folks of all ages who have experienced trauma or hardships.

Dr. Marcella Kreysa is a Latina and native Spanish-speaking licensed clinical psychologist who provides therapeutic services in both English and Spanish. She believes in the importance of training and supervising future psychologists. When working with trainees, Dr. Kreysa utilizes a developmental growth model that allows budding psychologists to learn clinical best practices in a way that honors their own style and therapeutic approach.
Dr. Kreysa began her clinical journey when she earned her master's degree in Counseling Psychology from National University in 2011. Her desires to better understand the psychological underpinnings of people drove the pursuit of her doctoral degree in clinical psychology and she graduated from John F. Kennedy University in 2016.
Throughout her training, Dr. Kreysa worked with children, adolescents, adults, families, couples, and groups to help them build better understanding of themselves, improve communication, regulate emotions, and support resiliency among families within the community.
She has also worked in community mental health clinics in Sacramento and throughout the Bay Area, as well as experience working in San Mateo’s Juvenile Hall and Alameda County receiving home.
Dr. Kreysa completed her predoctoral internship and postdoctoral residency at WestCoast Children’s Clinic, an APPIC accredited site that focused on providing psychotherapy and psychological assessments to children, adolescents, and their families. She went on to become the Assistant Program Director of West Coast Children’s Clinic’s Intern and Resident training program and loved being a part of the training and development of future psychologists.
She has also had the opportunity to work at Sutter Center for Psychiatry, a psychiatric hospital setting, where she provided direct services, as well as supervision and training related to the psychological treatment of children and adults who were acutely and severely impacted by mental health.
