NAZANIN KHATAMI, MA

What is your philosophy in psychotherapy?

My prevailing philosophy of psychology is to find meaning in life and evolve out of challenging life situations. Through genuine help and support, trajectories can be transformed into empowering life experiences contributing to development and growth.

What approaches do you use to help your clients?

I use an integrative approach of psychodynamic, attachment theory, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy to explore and understand the root cause of psychological manifestations and support clients to become a better version of themselves.

What are your areas of expertise and clients you work well with?

My clinical work experience spans a wide range, involving individuals from different age groups and ethnic backgrounds. I have worked with various psychological disorders, including mood, anxiety, personality, neurodevelopmental, and trauma-related disorders. Furthermore, my work experience with trauma equipped me to understand the impact of adverse life experiences on individuals developmental pathways.

What’s your therapeutic style with your clients?

Therapy is a journey of self-discovery and a collaborative space for the client and therapist. My goal as a clinician is to offer a safe space for my clients to revisit painful memories and process together.

What languages do you speak?

English, German, Farsi. 

Past Experience and Education

Nazanin Khatami is a clinical psychology intern enrolled at The Chicago School’s Clinical PsyD program in Orange County.


She obtained her M.A. in Clinical Psychology in that program in 2022 and is on track to graduate with her doctorate in Clinical Psychology  in 2025.
