Sophia Miller, PsyD

What is your philosophy in psychotherapy?

Learning to understand yourself and the way you perceive the world, through therapy, provides you with the opportunity to grow and move toward a more fulfilling life and to reduce anxiety and depression.

What approaches do you use to help your clients?

I approach my clients with full and complete acceptance. I want them to come to therapy feeling comfortable enough to share their private experiences with me. I believe in providing a space where my clients can be completely open without fear of judgment. My main focus is on building a strong relationship where my clients can trust me with whatever comes up for them. I want therapy to be a safe and welcoming place where the individuals I work with can feel supported.

What are your areas of expertise and clients you work well with?

I have extensive experience working with OCD and anxiety disorders. I also deliver therapy services to many clients from the LGBTQ+ population and enjoy providing quality care to diverse communities.

What’s your therapeutic style with your clients?

I try my best to meet my clients where they are at. Each client has unique and individual needs and I work to adjust my therapeutic style to fit those needs. My foundation is in cognitive behavioral therapy, meaning that I believe the way we think about ourselves, others, and the world has a significant impact on our mood and behaviors. I collaborate with my clients to become aware of their thinking patterns so they can live a more balanced and meaningful life.

What languages do you speak?

 English.
