Katie Olympius, M.A. is a doctoral practicum student therapist currently pursuing her Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology. She approaches psychotherapy from a client-centered and culturally humble perspective, grounded in the belief that each person is the expert of their own lived experience. Katie is committed to creating a collaborative, affirming, and supportive therapeutic environment where clients feel heard, respected, and understood. Her work emphasizes authenticity, empowerment, and individualized care tailored to each client’s unique goals and needs.

Katie is currently accepting new clients and provides therapy under the supervision of a licensed psychologist as part of her doctoral clinical training. She values creating a thoughtful and ethically grounded therapeutic experience while collaborating closely with her clinical supervisor to ensure she is providing high-quality care.

Clinical Approach and Interests/Specialties

Katie utilizes an integrative and evidence-based approach to therapy, drawing from modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and psychodynamic therapy. Her therapeutic style is trauma-informed and rooted in fostering safety, trust, and meaningful connection throughout the healing process.

Katie has experience supporting children, adolescents, and adults from diverse backgrounds across a range of concerns, including trauma, anxiety, neurodivergence, personality disorders, grief, and life transitions. She values honoring the complexity of each individual’s identity and experiences, and she strives to help clients build insight, resilience, and increase emotional well-being.
Her clinical interests include trauma-informed care, identity development, emotional regulation, interpersonal relationships, and supporting individuals navigating major life changes. Katie is passionate about helping clients better understand themselves while developing practical tools for growth and healing.

Fun/Unique Facts 

Outside of her academic and clinical work, Katie enjoys: 

  • Traveling to new places and being near the ocean.
  • Cooking and preparing meals for her loved ones. 
  • Exercise, taking walks and enjoying nature.
  • Being around animals and spending time with her dog. 

Past Experience and Education

Katie earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a minor in Sociology from University of California, Davis. She also earned her Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology from Alliant University and is currently completing her doctoral training in Clinical Psychology as part of her Psy.D. program.

Katie is dedicated to ongoing learning, cultural responsiveness, and providing compassionate, evidence-based care. She looks forward to supporting clients throughout their mental health journey and considers it a privilege to walk alongside individuals as they work toward healing and personal growth.
