What eating disorders does Vantage Point treat?

We provide treatment for Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa, Binge Eating Disorder (BED), Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder (ARFID), and Other Specified Feeding or Eating Disorders (OSFED). We also work with clients experiencing subclinical disordered eating and body image concerns.

What treatment approaches are used for eating disorders?

Treatment is always personalized to each client’s diagnosis, goals, and level of care.

Does Vantage Point coordinate with dietitians and medical providers?

Yes. We take a team-based approach to eating disorder treatment. With your consent, our clinicians actively coordinate with registered dietitians, physicians, and psychiatrists. If a higher level of care is needed — such as intensive outpatient (IOP) or partial hospitalization (PHP) — we can help facilitate that referral.

Do eating disorders co-occur with other conditions like anxiety or OCD?

Frequently, yes. Eating disorders often co-occur with anxiety, depression, OCD, and trauma. Our clinicians are trained to assess for and treat these overlapping concerns, and we provide thoughtful diagnostic assessment when the clinical picture is complex.

Is eating disorder treatment supervised by licensed psychologists if I am seeing an intern?

Yes. Vantage Point is the only non-academic APA-accredited psychology training site in the greater Sacramento area. All clinical work, including eating disorder treatment, is conducted under APA-standard supervision by licensed psychologists.
