Kyle believes that therapy is a space where people can show up as their whole selves and feel supported in making sense of life’s challenges. Using a relationship-oriented and growth-focused approach, he helps clients build awareness, understanding, and meaning within their experiences while exploring thoughts, emotions, patterns, and relationships. Kyle draws from approaches that encourage clients to share their stories, deepen self-awareness, and navigate life with greater clarity and self-compassion.

Clinical Approach and Interests/Specialties

Kyle primarily uses a relationship-oriented approach where clients are encouraged to show up as their whole selves in therapy. He works collaboratively to help clients build awareness of their emotions, thoughts, and experiences while developing deeper understanding and meaning in their lives. His therapeutic style is warm, empathetic, growth-oriented, and humorous, creating a space where clients feel supported and understood.

Kyle works with young adults and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, identity exploration, life transitions, and family or relationship struggles. He also specializes in working with LGBTQIA+ individuals and creating an affirming, welcoming space for identity exploration, healing, and growth.

Fun Fact!

Outside of work, Kyle enjoys recharging by going on walks with his husband and dog. He also enjoys engaging with media—whether podcasts, TV, movies, or books—depending on the day.

Past Experience and Education

Kyle is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Nationally Certified Counselor. He earned a Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Counseling from Gonzaga University and a Master of Science in Counseling and Student Development with an emphasis in College Student Personnel from Kansas State University.

Since moving to Sacramento in 2021, Kyle has worked with youth and young adults at Sacramento Children’s Home and in the counseling center at Sacramento State. Prior to becoming a therapist, he worked in higher education in residence life and case management, supporting students through a holistic wellness lens.
