About
Preeti Ghuman, M.A. is a doctoral intern at Vantage Point. Her therapeutic style is warm, collaborative, empathetic, compassionate, and explorative. She values creating a genuine and authentic relationship with her clients while building an environment where you feel comfortable being yourself. Finding compassion for yourself and acceptance are tools she leads with in sessions. Preeti believes therapy can look different for each individual; thus, she meets clients where they are in their journey. She fosters a space where clients can lead and feel in control of their own progress while providing the tools they want for growth. She balances insight-oriented exploration with tools and coping strategies, while being attuned and attentive to each client’s emotional and nervous system needs. Preeti aims to help clients feel empowered, understood, and gently challenged in ways that support growth and healing.
Clinical Approach and Interests/Specialties
Preeti believes therapy is a collaborative process rooted in trust, compassion, and authenticity that helps you reconnect with yourself, better understand your experiences, and create meaningful change. Her experiences inform her understanding that meaningful change can occur when you feel empowered, connected, and supported as you explore both the challenges and strengths in life. She believes healing happens through self-awareness, connection, and learning how to respond to ourselves with curiosity and compassion. Growth and learning occur in a safe and welcoming environment; therefore, Preeti’s goal in sessions is to create a nonjudgmental space where you feel heard, understood, and supported.
Her approach is integrative and tailored to each client’s unique needs and goals. She incorporates Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), person-centered, psychodynamic, somatic-focused, and trauma-informed care into her work. She helps clients explore how past experiences, relationships, and emotions may be impacting their present lives while building practical tools for emotion regulation, self-awareness, and self-compassion. She utilizes mindfulness and somatic awareness to help clients reconnect with themselves and feel more grounded and empowered.
Preeti works with individuals experiencing anxiety, trauma, depression, stress, life transitions, relationship challenges, and self-esteem challenges. She works with young adults and adults who are seeking clarity, healing, self-learning, and personal growth. She enjoys supporting clients in reconnecting with self-compassion and deepen their self-understanding.

Outside of the clinical space, Preeti has a variety of unique interests:
- She likes to cook with a special interest in learning about different cultural foods.
- She loves to travel, hike and go on nature walks.
- She enjoys embroidery and sewing to relax.
Past Experience and Education
Preeti’s academic education includes undergraduate studies at UC Merced and a Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology from Alliant University. She is currently working on completing her doctoral education in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in trauma training at Alliant University. She is expected to obtain her PsyD in May of 2027.
Through her trainings, she has worked with individuals from diverse backgrounds in community mental health and private practice settings. She has worked with clients with anxiety, depression, trauma, burnout, relationship dynamics, and life transitions. She has worked with couples in therapy and received training in Emotionally Focused Therapy for Couples (EFT). Her work is grounded in trauma-informed and culturally responsive care.
