About

Caitlynn (Caity) Klawon, M.A., is a doctoral clinician in training who approaches therapy with warmth, curiosity, and deep respect for each client’s lived experience. Working under the supervision of a licensed psychologist, she is committed to creating a collaborative and nonjudgmental space where clients feel emotionally safe enough to explore difficult experiences, deepen self-understanding, and move toward meaningful change. She believes healing happens through authentic connection, increased self-awareness, and the development of both internal and relational sources of support. Her therapeutic philosophy is grounded in the belief that people grow when they are met with curiosity, compassion, and emotional safety, allowing insight, behavioral change, and emotional processing to work together in sustainable ways.

Clinical Approach and Interests/Specialties

Caity works from an integrative and relational framework, drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness-based interventions, psychodynamic therapy, and relational approaches while tailoring treatment to each client’s individual goals and needs. She values balancing emotional exploration with practical coping tools, collaborative goal-setting, and values-based action. Her therapeutic style is warm, engaged, thoughtful, and collaborative, helping clients better understand recurring patterns, navigate difficult emotions, and build greater self-compassion and psychological flexibility. She also deeply values mindfulness and holistic wellbeing, integrating an appreciation for movement, community, and self-awareness into her conceptualization of healing.

Her clinical interests include anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), identity exploration, trauma, relational concerns, and supporting clients in developing stronger self-understanding and self-compassion. She especially values working with adults and strives to provide affirming and inclusive care for LGBTQ+ clients. Across her training experiences, she has worked with diverse populations in both inpatient and outpatient settings, including
individuals experiencing anxiety disorders, substance use disorders, mood concerns, psychosis, and identity-related stressors. She is passionate about culturally humble and context-aware care and approaches therapy with openness, humility, and a commitment to understanding each client’s unique environment and lived experience.
